Four workshops were organized in previous period, aimed at raising capacities of the employees of Science and Technology Park Belgrade. The workshops were dedicated to the role and impact science and technology parks have on economic growth and development, basics and mapping of EU funds and innovative and entrepreneurial ecosystems.
Through the example of Ireland, participants were acquainted with importance of entrepreneurship in economic development of the country and the role the state played in supporting the development of innovative and entrepreneurial ecosystems through various programs and projects, which ultimately led to dropping unemployment rates from over 15 % in 1993 to only 3% in 2006. Through additional examples, mistakes that were made during this period were presented, which influenced a halt in economic growth 2008. Through a series of additional examples, workshop participants were introduced to a corpus of new measures taken to stimulate innovation and create new jobs.
Through the example of Slovenia, participants of the workshop could hear about the role the Science and Technology Park Ljubljana has in creating small and medium enterprises and startup companies, but also about the significance these companies have in economic development and retaining young people in the country. Practical recommendations for further development and growth of the Belgrade Science and Technology Park were presented by the expert.
At the workshop dedicated
to EU funds, participants were acquainted about all relevant funds available to
small and medium enterprises, activities related to research and innovation, but
also about the development of funding proposal, and financial instruments of
the European Innovation Council.
